Partial Dentures
Partial dentures can be for either upper or lower missing teeth and can be designed to replace as many teeth as your circumstances require. There are differing partial dentures to suit different situations. A partial denture is usually very retentive and a highly successful appliance to wear when missing one or several teeth. They can also be a suitable replacement for teeth when other dental solutions may be cost prohibitive. The options for partial dentures are:-
Valplast (nylon)
A nylon material is a flexible material. This make Valplast a great choice when comfort is the most important factor. Valplast dentures are very aesthetic and comfortable for patients. Due to this materials flexibility, it is not always suitable for every situation.
Plastic (acrylic)
A plastic partial denture is the most versatile and most cost-effective denture. Although it is a bulkier option, it can be added to or remodelled easily if the mouth changes over time.
Metal (cobalt-chrome)
Metal partial dentures are made from an alloy of chrome colbalt and are completely resistant to fracture. They are the most comfortable and ideal plate to wear in the mouth when 2 or more teeth are needing to be replaced.
